POSITION TITLE: Food Shelf Coordinator $15.50
TYPE: Full time, 40 Hours | Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Food Manager
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and organization’s pay structure

POSITION SUMMARY: The food shelf coordinator is responsible for the coordination and management of the food shelf and resources that are available to all clients as they relate to the agency’s mission, while ensuring equitable healthy food access for eligible and priority populations.
This position requires skilled communication with volunteers and clients, the ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and a passion for problem solving. This position requires computer work, flexibility in hours, and the ability to help others while keeping confidentiality, ordering, inventory control, and compassion. Work with clients for the Salvation Army on vouchers also.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Management (35%)
- Complete paperwork intake with clients, keeping their records updated according to policies.
- Provide clients with information and referrals to services that may be available.
- Distribute supplemental food/gifts associated with our programs.
- Keep and promote client confidentiality.
Administrative: (30%)
- Prepare and ensure accurate financial information, records, data reports, expenses, and payroll.
- Maintain communication with our food shelves, and other agency staff.
- Be flexible and available to help at other locations as needed.
- Recruit, train, supervise, discipline, and terminate volunteers in compliance with Family Pathways policies and procedures.
- Staff Meetings – Attend monthly staff meetings following Guiding Principles of participation and bring monthly story highlighting an instance in your food shelf with a client or volunteer.
Marketing/Community: (20%)
- Develop and maintain positive community relationships with existing businesses and churches.
- Attend meetings and other community events to inform community members of services and to learn more about individual community needs.
- Meet with social service agencies and government agencies to promote our services.
- Strengthen our volunteer base in the area.
Fundraising (15%)
- Maintain balance of food in the food shelf through donations and purchases when necessary.
- Plan and initiate marketing campaign for March Food Drive.
- Plan and initiate holiday meals programs and how this will be paid for.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Ability to work independently and with little supervision
- Current valid MN or WI driver’s license and automobile insurance
- Ability to work with sensitive and/or confidential matters
- Desire to work as a member of a team and promoting that team’s guiding principles
- Ability to plan, direct and review the work of volunteers with confidence and clarity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel client database software
- High attention to detail and flexible in nature
- Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple projects with deadlines, excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Position requires ability to sit for extended periods of time, close vision, ability to adjust focus and see color
- Must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
