Full Time – Domestic Violence Shelter Manager – Cambridge

The Shelter Manager is responsible for program management and supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of the Black Dog Hill shelter. Our shelter supports individuals and families impacted by domestic and sexual violence. As a member of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault leadership team you will help ensure coverage of on-call and after hour coverage for department programs and services. The Shelter Manager will perform their roles and responsibilities in-line with Family Pathways mission, vision, and while utilizing our guiding principles.

Who You Are

  • Experienced with coordinating program services in alignment with person-centered, strength-based, and trauma informed practices in order to ensure high quality care for all residents.
  • Capable of conducting case planning meetings with staff, evaluating participant progress, providing conflict resolution, responding to crisis calls, and being available for on-call department support as needed (both during and after hours).
  • Trustworthy with confidential documents, well-versed in data collection, understands appropriate sharing of information, able to maintain accurate records, and experienced with staff scheduling, approving time-off, and payroll.
  • Eager to provide and maintain a productive environment in the shelter through arranging the purchasing of food, supplies, and other necessities, as well as responding to maintenance needs and managing shelter vehicles.
  • Skilled at recruiting, screening, training, and maintaining communication with staff and volunteers, in addition to inspiring others to promote positivity and respect. 
  • Proficient in creating healthy internal working relationships through supervision and coaching, as well as by identifying and recognizing "good work" by employees and documenting such information in their file.

  • Starting Salary: $52,000 annually (exempt)
