TYPE: Full Time | Exempt

REPORTS TO: Director of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services

SALARY: $52,000 and/or commensurate salary with experience and Family Pathways pay structure

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Community Advocacy Manager is responsible for program management and crisis intervention through supportive services to individuals and families impacted by domestic and sexual violence. As a member of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault leadership team you will ensure coverage of on-call and after hour coverage for the department. The Community Advocacy Manager will perform their roles and responsibilities in-line with Family Pathways mission, vision, while utilizing our guiding principles.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Management (30%)

  • Ensure the delivery of quality person-centered, strength-based, trauma informed services through clear program procedures, guidelines, and standards.
  • With the Director of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services develop and implement effective strategies to serve survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Ensure day-to-day operations are efficient, effective, and trauma-informed while adhering to agency and department policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the implementation and completion of all program goals as related to the organization’s strategic plan or other initiatives.
  • Conduct regular case planning meetings with staff, evaluating progress to ensure effective services are being delivered based on best practices and program outcomes are being met.
  • Respond to crisis calls, emergencies, and client needs during both regular and after hours as needed.
  • Provide on-call support for the department as required.
  • Concentrate on diverse and underserved population needs and work collaboratively to establish services by providing program and referral information.
  • Manage and safeguard confidential information appropriately and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all safety/security protocols are up to date and followed.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance, providing primary oversight for the Community Advocacy program, providing direct service as needed.
  • Work with leadership team on grant compliance, reports, necessary trainings, and other funding requirements as needed.

Personnel Management (30%)

  • Recruit, screen, hire, orient, train and maintain regular contact with assigned staff and volunteers.
  • Initiate, model, inspire, and monitor a professional relationship and environment such as positivity and respect for staff and volunteers.
  • Provide supervision, leadership, support, coaching, and consultation for staff to ensure seamless services for survivors.
  • Assure staff is effectively providing individual advocacy and support to clients in accordance with program philosophy, policies, and procedures.
  • Support healthy internal working relationships; facilitate conflict resolution sessions with employees and clients as needed.
  • Facilitate staff meetings as needed, coordinate staff training, professional development, and wellness support.
  • Identify and address issues relative to policy and procedure and document all violations in employees file along with the action taken.
  • Identify and recognize “good work” by employees and document in employees’ file.
  • Assist in developing internal resources, policies, and procedures for the organization as they pertain to direct service.
  • Manage staffing schedule, approving time-off and payroll.
  • Track and report monthly the number of volunteers utilized, and their number of hours provided.

Community Engagement (25%)

  • Coordinate programs with outside agencies and community groups to provide community education regarding domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Stay current on the topics of domestic and sexual violence and be able to deliver confident, compelling presentations.
  • Gather and maintain organization and staff access to educational materials and handouts to be used in professional training, public presentations, and educational groups.
  • Professionally represent Family Pathways to customers, clients, donors, vendors, and the public while participating at community-based meetings, conferences, and sexual assault/domestic violence trainings.
  • Develop and conduct community education presentations on domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with partners, community task forces, committees and with stakeholders who support domestic violence prevention and intervention work.
  • Participate in agency marketing, fundraising, events, and activities as directed.

Administrative (15%)

  • Prepare accurate and timely reports as dictated by agency and funder contracts; ensure data is collected and entered in appropriate systems; compile and analyze statistical data to ensure outcomes for program are being met.
  • Assist in the development of program and department annual budget, setting and monitoring the approved budget for fiscal responsibility.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff and agency meetings as required, including department meetings, and regularly scheduled supervision meetings.
  • Actively participate on the Leadership Team and assist the agency in rolling out policies, moving the mission forward and developing innovative programming.
  • Participate in grant writing as directed.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Director of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services on the program’s outcomes and compliance.
  • Maintain client files, agency files, statistics, forms, and other record keeping as required.
  • Other tasks/duties consistent with the quality-of-service provision and as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or equivalent related work experience in DV / SA or human services field.
  • 2 years of experience in direct supervision and management of staff and volunteers, budgets, and public relations.
  • Familiar with trauma-informed, client-centered, strength-based and empowerment models.
  • Experience providing advocacy to victims of DV and SA within a DV/SA agency.
  • A leader and team player committed to advancing vision, mission, values and guiding principles.
  • Demonstrated passion to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, domestic violence and/or mental illness.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and confidential matters.
  • Ability to plan, direct and review the work of others with confidence and clarity.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; excellent listening skills
  • Organized and works well under pressure and manage multiple projects/deadlines.
  • Must have a dependable vehicle, a current and valid MN state driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time, close vision, ability to adjust focus and see color.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
