MISSION:

The Refuge Network is a multi-community organization whose primary mission is to provide supportive services for people who are currently involved in or have been in an abusive relationship.  The Refuge Network believes that no one deserves to be abused and therefore seeks ways to end domestic violence and sexual assault.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Community Advocate/Community Education Coordinator – Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault advocacy with direct services, criminal and civil court advocacy, crisis intervention, support group facilitation, hospital advocacy for domestic and sexual violence victims, promote fundraising, facilitate trainings and provide community education around domestic violence and sexual assault.

LOCATION:

Main Office – Mora (with some travel around our service area)

KEY TRAITS:

Experience working with crisis situations and providing advocacy, excellent communication and listening skills, ability to problem solve and multi task, works well independently and with others, can adapt to change on a daily basis, works well under pressure, comfortable with public speaking.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma required. College Degree and/or experience in domestic violence/sexual violence is preferred. Must be able to commit to an on call rotation, must have a valid driver’s license, valid car insurance and clean driving record.

COMPENSATION:

40 hour position with benefits – Monday – Friday - 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (some nights and weekends are required)

$15.00 per hour
