Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault advocacy with direct services, criminal and civil court advocacy, crisis intervention, support group facilitation, facilitate trainings and community education around domestic violence and sexual assault, hospital advocacy, child protection visitation supervision. Focus working with male victims, but not limited to.

A. Advocacy (90%)
ï‚· Provide direct client advocacy and supportive services to victims of domestic and sexual violence. This includes daily work hours and on call rotation hours
ï‚· Maintain day to day operation of assigned office or the office you will be covering that day
ï‚· Develop and facilitate an active weekly support group for battered victims
ï‚· Assist clients in meeting their individual needs
ï‚· Provide clients with assistance in pursuing civil, criminal and family court remedies
ï‚· Create and maintain client files as needed for agency’s information system
ï‚· Meet the deadline for statistics to be completed accurately and turned into program manager
ï‚· Maintain and support collaboration with local Law Enforcement and other local agencies
ï‚· Manage donations as opportunities arise
ï‚· Provide ongoing community education regarding domestic and sexual violence
ï‚· Maintain professional and positive working relationships with collaborative partners
ï‚· Maintain a professional and positive working relation with staff, volunteers and interns
ï‚· Perform other duties as assigned

B. Administrative Work (10%)
ï‚· Maintain other files as needed
ï‚· Keeping accurate and up to date statistics

QUALIFICATIONS:
ï‚· Knowledge of domestic and sexual violence
ï‚· Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
ï‚· Ability to work independently and prioritize
ï‚· Knowledge of computer programs to include: Word, Excel and Outlook
ï‚· Ability to effectively communicate with others and assure positive outcomes
ï‚· Willingness to learn new tasks, accept change and bring new ideas to the forefront
ï‚· Ability to work with diverse populations
ï‚· Ability to work with diverse populations
ï‚· Ability to maintain flexible hours
ï‚· Ability to talk and hear, occasionally sit or stand for long periods of time, bend, lift and reach with hands and arms
ï‚· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
ï‚· Minimum of High School diploma
ï‚· Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record and current insurance
