POSITION TITLE: Aging Care Associate
TYPE: Part-Time | Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Aging Services Manager
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and Family Pathways pay structure

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Helping older adults stay safe in their homes as long as possible by performing light homemaking services that enable to remain living in their home of choice as long as possible.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Homemaking Duties (80%)

  • Light housekeeping such as light floor care, straightening up the house, cleaning kitchen, bathroom, light laundry, menu planning, meal prep and clean up, organizing cupboards or closets, and bill organizing
  • Monitoring the older adult’s well-being in the home, including home safety, and alerting Aging Care Assistant as needed
  • Be able to report issues of elder abuse if they arise

Administrative (20%)

  • Maintain timely, concise, and accurate documentation supporting your work
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent self-management skills
  • Participate in team and/or agency meetings

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Must have experience working with older adults who are 60+
  • A strong sense of respect for the aging population
  • Experience in light housekeeping and working in the homes of others
  • Ability to respect that others may have a different way of living, different standards for keeping house etc.
  • Ability to adhere to schedules and be flexible to changes
  • Oral and written fluency in English, ability to complete necessary documentation
  • A visibly apparent personal commitment to hygiene, cleanliness, etc.
  • Clear professional boundaries and ability to adhere to agency ethics and standards for performance
  • Demonstrated job stability, dependability, and ability to accept and follow directions/supervision
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to drive on rural roads in all types of weather
  • Position requires ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, close vision, ability to adjust focus and see color
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
