Full Time - Community Advocate Lead - Cloquet, Minnesota

Do you feel comfortable advocating for those who cannot? If this sounds like you, we would like you to join the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services branch of Family Pathways as our Community Advocate Lead. Family Pathways works alongside people to enhance lives through a continuum of essential services and, together with the community, champion positive social change.

This position is responsible for providing crisis intervention, personal and legal advocacy, youth intervention, court support and systems advocacy for individuals affected by domestic violence and/or sexual assault. In addition, they will provide guidance and support with day-to-day operations of designated Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (DVSA) community offices. They will incorporate and promote Family Pathways mission, vision, and guiding principles.

 

Who You Are:

  • Knowledgeable about how to provide guidance, support, training, information, and education to Community Advocates in order to understand the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault to others while utilizing empowerment-based, trauma informed advocacy to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. 
  • Able to provide outreach advocacy services to victims and record relevant client demographics, service usage, referrals, and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in a timely manner using services from Microsoft Office and Adobe. Ensure necessary electronic entries and reporting requirements for the department, agency, and partner agencies are completed without error and in a timely fashion.
  • Experienced with collaboration, and encouraging teamwork through modeling cooperative interactions with colleagues, volunteers, clients, and community members while maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, and integrity of sensitive information in order to maintain a welcoming, peaceful, and healing environment. 
  • Excited to engage in community networking, events, activities, local multi-disciplinary teams, outreach efforts, and speaking engagements as assigned to increase awareness of services for individuals, families, and youth, while also attending and participating in all-staff and supervision meetings, training, and in-services as directed.
  • Comfortable assisting day-to-day operations, ensuring department resources and publications correct, organized, and maintained for staff education, professional training, public presentations, and educational groups. Must be able to assess priorities and multi-task, 
  • Have a dependable vehicle, as well as a current and valid Driver’s License, in addition to proof of insurance.

Starting Pay: $21 an hour, non-exempt
