Group Facilitator – Step Up Program Men’s Program Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault topics to be discussed by the facilitator during group with groups ranging from 2 to 6 men. Maintain complete visibility with probation officers and other agencies regarding offender.  Updating files when needed.  Provide training to outside agencies regarding the Step Up Program.  
A. Facilitation of Step Up Program (90%)  
  • Provide facilitation to men who are required to undergo programming via probation or of free will 
  • Assist men in any questions they may have outside of class 
  • Provide men with assistance in pursuing civil, criminal and family court remedies 
  • Meet the deadline for statistics to be completed accurately and turned into program manager if needed 
  • Maintain and support collaboration with local probation and other local agencies 
  • Manage donations as opportunities arise 
  • Provide ongoing community education regarding domestic violence and the Step Up Program 
  • Maintain professional and positive working relationships with collaborative partners 
  • Maintain a professional and positive working relation with staff, volunteers and interns 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
B. Administrative Work (10%)
  • Maintain other files as needed 
  • Maintain day to day operation of assigned office 
  • Create and maintain client files as needed for agency’s information system 
  • Keeping accurate and up to date statistics on any re-offense

  • Knowledge of domestic and sexual violence 
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions 
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize 
  • Knowledge of computer programs to include: Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others while in a group setting 
  • Willingness to learn new tasks, accept change and bring new ideas to the forefront while helping to evolve the curriculum 
  • Ability to work with diverse population 
  • Ability to maintain flexible hours 
  • Ability to talk and hear, occasionally sit or stand for long periods of time, bend, lift and reach with hands and arms 
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
  • Minimum of High School diploma 
  • Must have valid driver’s license and current insurance
